Alexandra Kaiser

Alexandra Kaiser is Research Associate and doctoral student at the Chair of Chinese Legal Culture. She received a B.A. and M.A. in Chinese Studies / Law from University of Cologne and studied law and Chinese language in Taipei and Peking. Alexandra’s doctoral thesis investigates the impact of the Chinese government’s human rights doctrine on the implementation of the presumption of innocence into the criminal justice system. Her research interests include the Chinese criminal justice system, human rights and socio-legal studies. She was a visiting doctoral student at Nanjing University (2017-18), at the Human Rights Centre at Central South University in Changsha (2018), and a visiting research student at King’s College London (2019-2020).
